To mark UAE’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, Dubai Chess and Culture Club, will host the 50th National Day Championship.
Moldavian Grandmaster Viorel Iordachescu, Egyptian Grandmaster Bassem Amin are among the top players competing in the championship which will begin on Wednesday.
Around 102 players including UAE players representing 26 countries will battle for top honours at the 50th National Day Championship.
The championship will have 9 rounds on the basis of Swiss system, and the time control is 10 minutes + 5 seconds for each move.
International Arbiter Saeed Yousef of the UAE will serve as the main arbiter for the tournament.
He will assist a number of international and local arbiters at the championship.
Ibrahim Al Bannai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Chess and Culture Club, and in the presence of the other officials will attend the opening ceremony.
