The executive team of the National Sports Day held a regular meeting to review the preparations for the launch of the seventh edition of the event, which will take place on Wednesday.
The main event will be held at the site of Expo 2020 Dubai, starting with a 3km walk at 9am.
About 33 other accompanying sports events will be held at the site for all age groups.
The meeting was chaired by Eng. Sheikh Salem Bin Sultan Al Qasimi in the presence of Eng. Azza Bint Suleiman, Assistant Secretary-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs of the National Olympic Committee.
Also attending the meeting were Ahmed Al Raisi, representing the Emirate of Ajman, Fahd Abdullah Bin Jumaa from the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, Abdullah Salem Qanzul from the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain, Talal Al Hashemi from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Saeed Ali Al Ajeel and Yasser Al Doukhi from the Sharjah Sports Council, Anoud Saeed Al Falasi from the Ministry of Health Prevention, Saleh Hassan Al Hammadi from the Ministry of Community Development, Ahmed Barakat Al Abdouli from the General Authority of Sports, Captain Hamid Khamis Majid Al Ali, from the Police Sports Federation, Fatima Al Raisi from the UAE Women’s Sports Committee, and Mohammed Saeed bin Darwish, Executive Director of the National Olympic Committee.
Attendees from the General Authority of Sports included Humaid Al Muhairi, Director of Government Communications, Munira Safar, Head of Media, Marketing, and Graphics Production; and Ahlam Youssef Ahmed, Head of Public Relations.
The attendees were briefed on the latest developments regarding the preparations for the event in the manifestation of the message of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the National Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Higher Committee for the National Sports Day initiative.
During the meeting, the officials stressed the importance of the participation of all segments of society and the practice of sports activities to promote a healthy lifestyle.
The executive team was briefed on the progress of the main event at Expo 2020 Dubai.
Medals and trophies will be presented, and the event will take place in the presence of many former sports stars.
The accompanying sports events at Expo 2020 Dubai include competition in various sports disciplines, including football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, yoga for women, and bicycles, in addition to other physical activities.
