The Tennis and Country Club Fujairah (TCCF) recently hosted a landmark event championing children's rights in the UAE — Emirati Children’s Day.
The organisers could not have asked for better guests to grace the occasion and add weightage to the noble cause as the event witnessed the participation of Fujairah’s royal family members.
The TCCF was honoured to have Sheikha Al Zain Bint Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, Sheikha Moza Bint Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, Sheikha Sheikha Bint Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, and Sheikha Hessa Mohamed Saleh Mohamed Al Sharqi, who all added star power to the event and successfully delivered the message of raising awareness of children's rights to a healthy, safe, and supportive environment for their development.
Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Federation for Bodybuilding and Physical Strength, and Vice President of the Asian Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness, also attended the event.
Emirati Children's Day is observed on March 15 of each year. In recognition of the milestone date, a law was approved to safeguard young members of society from all forms of abuse.
Sheikha Hessa Mohamed Saleh Mohamed Al Sharqi and other children perform during the event.
It was launched by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, chairwoman of the General Women's Union and president of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood (SCMC).
The day was adopted to coincide with the approval of Child Protection Law 3, popularly called Wadeema Law, on March 15, 2016.
The event started with a welcome note by Hania Reggi, Senior Sales, and Marketing Manager at TCCF, followed by an address by Hashim Behrozian, who was recently named official brand ambassador of Yonex, and an acrobatic show by performers from Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort that thrilled the children, with startling acrobatic moves.
Addressing the kids, Hashim, a promising tennis star, gave an inspiring speech.
He said: "Every great success can be achieved through hard work, dedication, and determination. Hard work pays off, and every child can achieve success at the highest level with sheer determination." Super Baby Nursery, Diyar Private Academy and other schools presented colourful dance performances to mark the occasion.
The club also feted Sheikha Khameis Al Kindi.
