After 36 holes of the 2022 Faldo Series Middle East Qualifier, Jake Wiltshire (The Els Club) leads after a second round of eight under par for a two-round total of 137, three under par at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club.
The tournament is sanctioned by the Emirates Golf Federation and supported by The R&A, DP World Tour, LET, ASM Scholarships and Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club.
The 20- year-old is four shots ahead in the Boys Under-21 Division, from Edoardo Scialanga (Emirates Golf Club) with his total of 141 (+1). The Par 70 Al Ain course is in pristine condition, highlighted by the continued good scoring. The other leaders of the respective Divisions are:
Boys Under-16, Raghav Gulati (Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club) – 137, Boys Under-18, Peter Whittaker (AESGC) – 139,
Girls Under-16, Lara El Chaib (Abu Dhabi Golf Club) – 139,
Girls Under-21, Sakura Kawakami (AESGC) – 140
The final round of this 54-hole event will take place on Thursday followed by the prize presentation.
The leading player in each of the five Divisions after the final round, will be invited back to the Faldo Series Grand Final later in the year, once again hosted at Al
Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club and attended by Sir Nick Faldo.
