Producing a dominant performance, Sharjah Women's Sports Club archers grabbed three medals at the Archery Championship of the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament 2022.
In what could have been a flawless performance, Aisha Jasim Al Ali was right on target to nail the gold medal in the recurve (Women 16+) category of the competition. She scored 274 out of 300 points to take the spot on the podium.
It was a clean sweep for the Sharjah Women’s Sports Club archers as they bagged silver and bronze as well. Fatima Mohammed Al Blooshi clinched silver and Hessa Al Awadhi claimed bronze.
The women's category of the NAS Championship witnessed the participation of three clubs, including Fujairah, Dubai Archers, and Sharjah Women's Sports Club.
"The competition was strong and the participating groups were competitive, with 44 male and female players from 10 different nationalities," said Aisha.
"I managed to qualify for the final stage thanks to the advanced results achieved in the playoffs and qualifying stages, which required double focus to achieve the gold," she added.
The players expressed their happiness over achieving the first three places in the women's archery competition.
Their performance reflected the readiness of the players to compete for titles and medals.
Aisha also expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of Sharjah Women’s Sports (SWS), for her unwavering support of women's sports and players.
