The Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation players’ clinched 137 medals following their participation in local and international competitions during the first quarter of 2022.
The achievement in 10 different sports disciplines came after the 338 players representing Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation clubs took part in these local and overseas events.
The figures were revealed in a detailed report on the participation of female players, which was issued by Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation.
The players of the three clubs (Sharjah, Central, and Eastern) of the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation participated in 33 local sports tournaments and four overseas events.
The players also attended three camps to prepare for these tournaments before grabbing the medals and top places on the podium.
Academically and practically, the players have refined their various knowledge and skills by attending five training workshops in which a variety of topics and themes, including technical, administrative, and media, were highlighted, in line with the foundation's plan to develop players and cadres in various disciplines.
Hind Al Hosani, Deputy Director General of the Sharjah Women's Sports Club, emphasized that the club players have the opportunity to achieve more throughout the year, as well as to double the number of medals that summarize the efforts and tireless endeavors that everyone is proud of.
Al Hosani also stressed the need to document all stages, so that achievements can be identified and comprehensive reports for statistical and digital information can be prepared -- in order to take advantage of sports clubs’ achievements and provide updated data to all stakeholders on a regular basis.
Meanwhile, Sharjah Women’s Sports Club players took part in the 27th edition of the Al Dhaid Ramadan Shooting Championship, which started on April 12 and will end on April 17.
The shooting is being held at the headquarters of Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club.
The club was represented by Yasmine Tahlak, Shurooq Al Ali, Noura Al Ketbi, Salha Al Ali, Sarah Al Balushi, Shamsa Al Dhaheri, Ghaya Al Shuhail, Afra Muhammad Ali, Mashael Al Mazmi, Jawaher Al Mazmi, and Zainab Akhali in different categories of the shooting competition.
