Here is some fascinating news for football fans in the UAE. flyDubai will operate up to 60 daily flights to Qatar during the World Cup tournament in November. This will help soccer buffs in the country to fly to Doha before the game begins and return to the UAE at the end of the day.
Qatar Airways CEO Abu-Baker said on Thursday that fellow Gulf Arab airlines would operate more than 160 daily shuttle flights to Qatar.
Kuwait Airways will operate up to 20 flights daily, Oman Air up to 48, and Saudia up to 40. This is part of the World Cup shuttle agreement, said Abu-Baker.
The shuttle flights would help clear hurdles involving logistics, accommodation and policing policing.
The tournament is expected to attract over a million visitors.
Etihad and Air Arabia are also likely to join the scheme, according to the CEO.
