Dr Erkut Sogut, the agent of German football star Mesut Ozil, said that the currently outcast player in Turkish club Fenerbahce may move to electronic games after the end of his football career.
Ozil has not played with his team since last March after his relationship with interim coach Ismail Kartal deteriorated, and new coach Jorge Jesus has confirmed the end of work with the former Real Madrid and Arsenal playmaker once and for all.
Sogut said “Ozil will become more involved in electronic games and perhaps become a star in them. He is really special in the game Fortnite and I think one day he will compete in it.”
“Ozil owns the M10 Esports team, he has players and he has a house dedicated to playing in Germany, where he plays FIFA and Fortnite,” Sogut said.
Sogut's statements are not surprising, as Ozil's former Arsenal coach, Unai Emery, had previously been forced to deny what was reported about the cause of Ozil's back injury due to his addiction to electronic games.
