The Sharjah Women's Sports Club players took part in a friendly competition held at Al Dhaid Club from June 23-25 in which six shooters, including Salha Al Ali, Yasmine Tehlak, Shawk Al Ali, Shamsa Al Dhaheri, Jawaher Al Mazmi, and Afra Omar, participated.
The friendly shooting competition followed the conclusion of the successful training camp held earlier this month at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club.
Sharjah Women's Sports Club participated in a friendly competition and a camp in an effort to put into practice the recommendations of the Norwegian shooting ace Anna Gareth Jepsen, who was hosted by the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation last May with the goal of assessing coaches and players and monitoring training schedules.
The competition and camp also aimed to get players ready for the future events, focus on all the technical and mental requirements of the shooting sport, and sharpen the skills of the players.
Suhaila Al Balushi, the manager of the shooting team, emphasized the significance of holding the camp during this time, which marks the conclusion of one sporting season and the start of another, in order to properly prepare and pinpoint the key areas that require improvement while taking into account how the archers performed during their official participation in various local and international tournaments.
"The positive atmosphere and harmony among the players contributed towards the success of the camp. Gains of such camps will pave the way to ensure the achievement of the necessary results and objectives in the club's march to compete for titles and medals in all sports, which will be evident during upcoming participations," she added.
