Fatima Al Hosani, nutrition and health care specialist and member of the athletics team at Sharjah Women's Sports Club and the UAE athletics team, stressed the importance of raising awareness of the nutrition aspect as it is one of the most important factors for the success of the athlete in his or her career and achieving goals.
She pointed out that the nutrition department of the club is in the process of launching a series of workshops that will be organized in the club and through its social media platforms to identify the best practices and sound health systems followed in this regard, and how nutrition affects the physical and mental levels of the athlete and its prominent role in the success of the sports work system.
"The Nutrition Department has adopted a series of periodic checks for the players' follow-up, as they will be applied throughout the sporting season. These checks will produce integrated reports and be submitted to all other concerned departments, who build plans and strategies on accurate scientific foundations," said Fatima.
She also disclosed that the Sharjah Women’s Sports Club will be adding a specialized medical staff soon, as well as another group of highly qualified experts, who will examine each player's file from a health and physical perspective and carry out some scientific research with the necessary conceptions.
