Preparations in full swing to ensure success of Dubai World Padel Championship 2022

Stepping up the preparations, the Organizing Committee of the Dubai World Padel Championship 2022 held its first meeting, chaired by Sheikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Padel Association (UAEPA) Chairman of the Organizing Committee, to review the arrangements.

The World Padel Championship, hosted by UAEPA in association with Dubai Sports Council and Dubai Department of Economy & Tourism (DET), will be played from October 31 to November 5 at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium.

The meeting was attended by members of the organizing committee, including Ismail Al Hashimi, Vice President of UAEPA Vice-Chairman of the Organizing Committee; Khalifa Yousif Khoori, Nasser Al Rahma, Hasan Al Mazrouei, Tournament Director; Eisa Al Marzooqi, Abdul Karim Al Aref, and Awatif Al Suwadi.

The committee reviewed the plans, which include creating eight courts besides the centre court of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship, and other sub-courts of international standards to host part of the tournament and allow participating players to train.

During the meeting, an overview of the preparation schedule for completing the championship village, media centre, and the fan areas, as well as the numerous amenities offered to tournament guests, was provided to the committee.

The Organizing Committee was also informed about the arrangements that have been made so far, and ways were discussed to ensure a roaring success for this global event whilst providing the best possible services to the competitors.

The Organizing Committee was reassured that preparations for the selection of the official hotel for the accommodation of delegations, logistical arrangements, hosting the official gala dinner, and the distribution of tasks of teams to receive them from reception at the airport to hotels are on track.

The committee members presented several proposals to ensure a unique hosting of the world-class event compared with previous championships, whether on the technical or organizational level or in terms of attendance. These proposals will be studied and discussed in the upcoming meetings.

Ismail Al Hashemi, Vice-Chairman of the Organizing Committee, confirmed that the preparations are progressing in a distinguished manner to host the first ever World Padel Championship in Dubai.

"We look forward to organizing a world-class event in Dubai that lives up to the excellent reputation enjoyed by the UAE in hosting major sporting events, and we hope that this edition will go down as one of the best tournaments in the World Padel Championship history."

The Dubai World Padel Championship will feature separate men’s and women’s categories, with 16 national teams set to compete in each contest during the six-day championship.
