In order to mark the 51st UAE National Day, which falls on December 2 and is celebrated across the nation every year, an international martial arts competition will take place in the same month.
The tournament is named after Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saqr Al Qasimi International Martial Arts Championship and includes competitions in jiu-jitsu, karate, taekwondo, judo, Muay Thai, kung fu, and other types of self-defense sports.
The championship will take place under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saqr Al Qasimi.
Around 700 athletes are expected to take part in the tournament.
Around 700 athletes representing the UAE, India, Pakistan, Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Algeria, Ethiopia, Morocco, Egypt and other countries are expected to take part in the event, which is sponsored by Ihsan Mourouj, owner of 8Ba Enterprises.
Sheikh Sultan Bin Muhammad Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, chairman of the organizing committee, appreciated the preparations being made for the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saqr Al Qasimi International Mixed Martial Arts Championship.
He instructed the organizing committee to ensure that the championship will be a distinguished sports and community celebration and to invite the top athletes to compete in this tournament.
Syed Kamal, tournament director, said: "We are expecting around 700 athletes to take part in the tournament. Prize money and the location will be announced soon, but the rewards given to the winners will match the stature of the competition for sure."
