Sheikh Saleh Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Department of Industry and Economy, has described Fujairah Chess and Culture Club’s hosting of the 45th World Chess Solving Championship and 64th World Congress of Chess Composition as an additional qualitative leap for sport in the UAE in general and in the Emirate in particular.
“This demonstrates that Fujairah has developed into a major international sports hub, particularly in the sport of chess, where achievements have varied noticeably,” said Sheikh Saleh.
Sheikh Saleh made these remarks during his meeting with the chairman and members of the board of directors of the Fujairah Chess and Culture Club.
He emphasized that these accomplishments, which were made possible by the support and wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, reflect the wise approach taken by the government of Fujairah in realizing its long-term goals.
Sheikh Saleh also praised the ongoing efforts to host the international sporting event, which will take place from November 12 to November 19.
He also instructed the organizing committee to put in their best efforts to ensure the success of these world-class events.
Sheikh Saleh also congratulated the Fujairah chess family and players for their achievements in the competitions and wished them continued success.
Dr. Adbulla AAL Barakat, Chairman of the Fujairah Chess and Culture Club and Chairman of the Championship’s Organizing Committee, spoke about the importance of world events and Fujairah’s readiness to host them.
He also emphasized that the club’s ongoing construction of a new building complies with the highest international standards.
The meeting was also attended by Mohammed Abdullah Al Zaabi, Vice Chairman of Fujairah Chess and Culture Club, board members Maryam Abdullah Al Matrooshi, Engineer Ibrahim Jalal Al Balushi, and Jassim Heikal Al Balushi, as well as Executive Director Mohammed Abdul Ghani.
