Sixth edition of the Ride Ajman race ends on successful note

The sixth edition of the Ride Ajman 2022 race, organized by the Ajman Department of Tourism Development, concluded on Sunday.

The Ajman Department of Tourism Development organized the race in collaboration with Endurance Sports Services.

This race comes as part of the department’s strategy to support and encourage sports and adopt a healthy lifestyle, in addition to offering various kinds of events and activities.

The race began in Marsa Ajman and witnessed the participation of more than 500 cyclists over distances of 53 and 106 kilometers.

The race featured Emirati and Open categories, as well as the first appearance of the People of Determination in the 53-kilometer race.

The Ride Ajman 2022 initiative aimed to promote Ajman's touristic aspects by promoting historical sites, encouraging individual sports and preparing a young generation of athletes to compete on an international level, and spreading a culture of tolerance within society through community sports that bring people from different backgrounds in the UAE together.

Ajman’s extensive experience in hosting various entertainments, cultural, and sports events contributed to establishing the emirate’s position as a leading tourist destination that offers exceptional content for its visitors.

Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development, stated that Ride Ajman 2022 has become a prominent racing event in the country after achieving massive success in its previous editions, whether in terms of participation or public interest, which reinforces Ajman’s leading position in organizing such remarkable events thanks to its advanced and well-suited infrastructure.

 "Ajman aims to increase the number of popular events that are suitable for all abilities, age groups, and segments of our society. This falls in line with our sustainable vision to create a homogeneous community that adopts sports for healthy lifestyles," Hashmi added.

The Ride Ajman 2022 was sponsored by Saudi German Hospital as the gold sponsor, Gulfa Water as the hydration sponsor, Marsa Ajman, Ajman Municipality, Ajman Police, UAE Cycling Federation, Nabdh Al Emarat Volunteering Team, Ceikli, CYKL Garage, Infinity Gym, B. Healthy Restaurant, Triathlon Hub, and SANID Team.
