Morocco may have lost the semifinal match against France but the team won the hearts of millions around the world.
The cultured and hospitable fans have made headlines across all media platforms. And now another video of the fans during the match against France is been doing the rounds on social media.
The Moroccans and other Arab fans were heard chanting, “There is no deity but Allah, and Muhammad is his Messenger…” were echoing throughout the country’s semi-final match against France on Wednesday at Al Bayt Stadium in Doha.
French President Emmanuel Macron and other dignitaries attended the semi-final.
Morocco defied the odds to become the first African team to reach the World Cup semifinals. But the Atlas Lions' run came to an end with a 2-0 loss to defending champions France.
Morocco has gained status inside FIFA and credibility with fans by eliminating Spain and then Portugal in knockout games to be the first African team to advance to a World Cup semifinals.
Moroccan media hailed the national football team on Thursday.
Local media said, "Morocco went out with honour and with their heads high…”
The "Lions of the Atlas" were the first Arab or African team ever to reach a semi-final in 92 years of football's top tournament.
