Pakistan’s star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi’s tied the knot with former captain Shahid Afridi’s daughter Ansha at a local mosque in Karachi on Friday. Notably, Shaheen got engaged to Ansha Afridi two years ago.
Maulana Abdul Sattar performed the Nikah at the Zakaria Mosque, while the bride’s rukhsati will take place later.
Soon after the Nikah, a reception was also held where several cricket stars, including captain Babar Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Naseem Shah and Shadab Khan, as well as squash legend Jahangir Khan, were among the attendees.
Asim Bajwa, the former director-general of the Inter-Services Public Relations, was also present at the occasion along with Wasim Khan, the General Manager of the International Cricket Council.

According to family sources, the couple’s mehndi function was held on Thursday night. Shaheen’s family reached Karachi from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to participate in marriage events two days earlier.
Recently, Shaheen's brother, Riaz Afridi, took to social media and shared that he is in town for a "special occasion," keeping most of the details about the event under wraps.
Taking to Twitter, Riaz Afridi penned down a heartfelt message for his younger sibling. He wrote, "I always feel great with Lala and we are here on a special occasion. My younger brother is also with me who I consider my pride! All my best wishes to my younger brother Shaheen."
Recently, speaking in an interview on Geo News' show "Aik Din Geo Kai Sath," the 22-year-old pacer revealed that it was his wish to marry Shahid Afridi’s daughter.
"It was my wish and Alhamdulillah (thanks to Allah Almighty) it is fulfilled now," Shaheen said while blushing during the interview.

The fast bowler has been in and out of the cricket field for a while in the wake of his knee injury during the T20 World Cup 2022 final against England which was held on Nov.13.
