The fifth and final tournament of the Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series concluded with two exciting matches on the grounds of Al Habtoor Polo Club, consisting of four teams.
The final featured a match between Ankora-Lamar Polo and Habtoor Polo who had an advantage of 1.5 goals. Khalid Alomran of Ankora-Lamar Polo opened the score in the first chukker.
The second chukker opened with a brilliant goal by Mohammed Al Habtoor, but ended with two goals from Haider Bangash and Khalid Alomran, with Ankora’s lead of 0.5 goal towards the end.
In the final moments of the Dubai Cup tournament, both the teams displayed tremendous polo skills but ultimately it was Habtoor Polo who clinched the title of the Dubai Cup 2023, by the score of 5.5 to 4 goals.
Earlier, in the subsidiary final El Basha Polo met PBS Polo.
PBS Polo began the match with a 0.5 goal advantage, but it was Habtoor Al Habtoor who opened the match and scored three back to back goals, along with a goal by Tariq Al Habtoor, ending the score in the first chukker with 4 goals to 0.5.
Mohammed Khalid Abdulghaffar from El Basha Polo scored two goals in the penultimate and final chukker, ending the first match in favor of El Basha with the score of 6 goals to 2.5.
Lukas Tremmel, General Manager of Al Habtoor Polo Resort, awarded the teams of the Dubai Cup 2023.
The Most Valuable Player was awarded to Khalaf Al Habtoor, and the Best Playing Pony was awarded to Billy, ridden and owned by Khalid Alomran.
