Following the astounding success of the inaugural edition, Fujairah will host the second IFBB Mr and Ms World Championships from October 5-7.
The prestigious championships for amateurs and professionals will take place under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, and will be held at the Zayed Sports Complex.
Details of the IFBB Mr and Ms World Championships were revealed during a coordination meeting of the organizing committee, which took place at the Novotel Hotel in Fujairah.
The meeting was held in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation; Engineer Mohammed Bin Majed, Director-General of the Department of Industry and Economy in Fujairah and chairman of the organizing committee; Nasser Al Yamahi; Abdul Aziz Buhindi, advisor at the General Authority of Sports; Khalil Mohammed Marouf, championships director; and representatives of the Fujairah Police, Civil Defense, and government agencies of the Emirate.
Registration and weigh-in for the Amateur and Elite Pro will take place on October 5, on the opening day at the Zayed Sports Complex, with physique, classic physique, bodybuilding, and fit model categories in focus.
On the second day, the bodybuilding, physique, and classic physique competitions for amateurs will be held.
Following this, the professionals’ competition will take place on October 7.
Sheikh Abdullah emphasized that the bodybuilding championships held annually in the Emirate of Fujairah have a distinguished position among the international championships across the world and that they contributed to a qualitative shift in the sport at both the UAE and international levels.
Highlighting the positive gains achieved, he expressed delight with the preparations made so far by the organizing committee.
Engineer Mohammed Bin Majed said: “IFBB Mr and Ms World Championships is one of the best and most well known competitions in the world. “We are honored to host the competition in Fujairah, and we look forward to hosting it in the best possible manner, reflecting the values of the Emirate.
“In keeping with the tradition of holding bodybuilding competitions in Fujairah, there will be a sizable turnout of competitors from both inside and outside the UAE as well as from many other nations around the world, including professional athletes,” he added.
Khalil revealed that Dr. Rafael Santonja, President of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB), will attend the championships in addition to a number of international sports figures.
