The Emirati athletes delivered an exceptional performance in the UAE-Turkmenistan Tactical Games Championship, which concluded in Ashgabat.
The championship took place from October 11–17 and was organised by the UAE Embassy in Turkmenistan.
The UAE team clinched the top three spots and topped the ranking tables, among the participation of 45 teams with around 105 players in the fray.
The UAE delegation included six players, including Ahmed Bin Dhabi Al Falasi, member of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation and Chairman of the Physical Fitness Committee.
Ali Darwish Al Marri, Moatasem Al Fadil, Abu Bakr Muhammad Al Hoqqani, Rashid Muhammad Al Marri, Salem Muhammad Al Ali, and Ahmed Humaid Al Zaabi.
The Emirati players in the championship received widespread praise from the audience for their high level of performance.
Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, congratulated the players on their remarkable achievements at the championship following their strong performance at the Asia Championship, held in Kyrgyzstan.
He praised the efforts of the Physical Fitness Committee for its precise planning and adherence to the best international standards, which paved the way for success in international championships.
UAE players receive a warm welcome upon their arrival from Ashgabat.
Sheikh Abdullah also commended the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs in Dubai for supporting the members of the national team during the training and competition phases.
He also appreciated the pivotal role of the UAE Embassy in Turkmenistan for their warm hospitality, their support in the successful participation of the team, and their exceptional organization of the championship.
Falasi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the UAE Embassy and Ahmed Al Hameli, UAE Ambassador to Turkmenistan, for their support, which contributed to the success of Emirati players.
Falasi also hailed the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation for their efforts and support that are paving the way for a qualitative improvement in Emirati fitness sports. He affirmed that Turkmenistan's state-of-the-art sports facilities and the organizing committee's expertise contributed to making the competition strong and distinctive, in addition to the country's exceptional hospitality.
“We look forward to coming here again to Ashgabat to take part in such fierce competitions,” he added.
Hameli expressed delight over the participation of UAE athletes and their wonderful performance in the championship.
“We were happy to see several UAE stars compete in the competition held to commemorate the 28th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the UAE and Turkmenistan.
“The championship was organized by the UAE Embassy in Turkmenistan in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation,” Hameli added.
