EJ Obiena achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first Filipino athlete to secure a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
His qualification came after successfully clearing the demanding benchmark of 5.82 meters during the Stockholm Diamond League took place in July.
At Tokyo Games, Obiena concluded his participation in the men's pole vault event, securing the 11th position.
Brimming with confidence with rigorous training and stellar performances which propelled him to World No. 2 rank in the men's pole vault, Obiena is optimistic of winning gold for the country.
