Goans in UAE witnessed a thrilling badminton spectacle over the weekend in Dubai as Karama 32 Warriors organised first ever all Goan UAE badminton tournament.
Featuring fierce competition among Goan shuttlers, the event featured clubs including Sanguem Warriors, Chandwada FC, Valpoi Sports and Cultural Club, Unknown Virus and host Karama 32 Warriors.
The thrilling matches in Men's Singles, Women's Singles, Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles provided an unforgettable experience for the spectators.
Sanguem Warriors’ Aslam Shaikh topped the Men’s Singles category after defeating Adil Khan in the final.
Chandwada FC’s Vishlesha Kakodkar won the Women's singles competition with an easy win over Arfana Shaikh of K32 Warriors.
Sanguem Warriors’ Adil Khan and Faiz dominated Men's doubles and defeated Sajid Khan and Azhar Khan of Chandwada FC in the final.
Hifza Sayad and Sakina Shaikh from K32W team beat Farah Shaikh and Arfana Shaikh in the Women’s doubles final.
Sanguem Warriors’ Adil Khan and Sheza Khan defeated Vishlesha Kakodkar and Jilan Shah of Chandwada FC in the Mixed Doubles final.
The tournament showcased stellar performances and fierce determination from all teams, captivating spectators with thrilling matches and exemplary sportsmanship.
The event not only highlighted athletic prowess but also showcased a strong sense of community and sportsmanship among the participating teams.
Joseph Dias, President of The Goans connecting Goans association, commended the efforts of K32 warriors and encouraged the other clubs to organize other similar events to keep goans’ community active and healthy in the region.
