With the aim of discovering new talents and expanding the pool of players, the Community Sports Sector at Sharjah Women's Sports has been organising an open Shooting Championship.
The championship got underway on Dec.15 and will continue until Dec.24.
This event is one of the distinguished activities that the Community Activities Sector of Sharjah Women's Sports is keen to organise on a regular basis in order to introduce and encourage young girls and women to practice sports and make it a way of life.
The organising committee has allocated trophies and awards for the winners of the first positions as an encouragement for them to continue practicing shooting sports.
The first-place winner will receive a trophy and a gold medal; the second-place winner will be awarded a silver medal; and the third-place winner will receive a bronze medal.
Noura Mohamed Al Hamr, Head of the Community Sports Sector, considered the championship, taking place at the Sharjah Women's Sports Club shooting range, as one of the most important events.
She emphasised that it provides a significant opportunity to understand the interests and desires of both young girls and women regarding shooting sports in particular and sports in general.
Noura expressed her wishes for the success of the championship, hoping to discover talented players to be added to the club's list of players.
She pointed out that the championship would be closely monitored by Sharjah Women's Sports’ officials, the club's technical team, and experts to identify talents that can be utilised in the future
