With participants showing promising signs and willingness to achieve more, the first phase of the Open Shooting Championship concluded at the shooting range of the Sharjah Women's Sports Club.
This event is part of the ongoing initiatives organized by the Community Sports Sector of Sharjah Women's Sports to discover new talented athletes.
In the junior category, 10 players participated, with Sarah Ahmed Bu Afra winning first place, followed by Sheikha Al Juneibi in second place, and Nermin Zaid in third place.
The women’s category, with 28 competitors, saw Alttaf Abdullah secure first place, followed by Thurya Abdullah in second place, and Afraa Al Ansari in third place.
The second stage of the championship is scheduled for December 22, 23, and 24 under the supervision of the technical and administrative team of the club.
Noura Al Hamar, the head of the Community Sports Section at Sharjah Women's Sports, expressed her satisfaction with the success of the first stage of the championship.
She noted the exceptional turnout and anticipated an increase in participation in the second stage, expecting to attract more players to join the shooting team at the club.
“With the completion of the second stage of the championship next week, Sharjah Women's Sports will successfully end the year by organizing 16 diverse community sports events throughout the year, covering a range of sports tailored to women,” Noura added.
She thanked Sharjah Women's Sports management for the support provided to community sports activities, which resulted in engaging a large number of athletes.
