Adding another feather to its cap, Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club clinched six medals at the AJP Tour Amman International Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2024 - GI & NO-GI.
The tournament concluded on Saturday in the Jordanian capital, Amman, with three gold medals each for Ali Mohammed Al Najjar, Zayed Abdullah Al Hosani, and Sheikha Jassim Al Raeesi. Khalifa Al Yammahi, Hamad Tariq Al Suwaidi, and Shatha Fareed Al Balushi secured silver medals, highlighting a significant international feat.
Abdulaziz Al Hammadi, the Sports Training Administration Manager, and Ibrahim Al Hosani, the coach of the UAE youth team and the technical director of jiu-jitsu at the club, oversaw the achievement.
Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Owais, Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club Club Chairman, praised the support and sponsorship from the Sharjah Sports Council, which contributed to this important accomplishment.
He emphasized the numerous benefits gained from participating in the championship, particularly its international significance and the acquisition of six medals, a significant addition to the club's international tournament journey. Owais also highlighted the valuable opportunity for club players to engage in tough competition and play outside the country, providing them with new experiences to assist in future tournaments.
He congratulated the club's family on the international achievement and commended the efforts of the sports training management, along with praising the outstanding efforts of coach Ibrahim Al Hosani, which resulted in remarkable successes.
