The Dubai Powerlifting Championship will take place at the Desert Barbell Gymnasium, located in the Holiday Inn in Al Barsha.
The event is organized by the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation and will be the first powerlifting championship of the 2024 season.
The championship is supervised by the board member Marco Giampietro and the Swedish Patrick Hedqvist.
It will feature 91 male and female athletes from the UAE and other countries. The competition will be held in 16 weight categories for men and women including 59, 66, 74, 83, 93, 105, and 120 kilograms, as well as the open weight category for women, which includes 57, 47, 52, 63, 69, 76, and 84 kilograms.
Faisal Al Ghais Al Zaabi, a board member of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation and supervisor of bodybuilding, expressed his gratitude to the organizing committee, represented by the Dubai Desert Barbell Club, for their contribution to supporting the sport of bodybuilding. He described the championship as one of the most important tournaments held in the UAE, as it brings together elite male and female players, providing a valuable opportunity to identify outstanding talents for national teams.
UAE National team athlete Mayed Al Redha stated that the championship is considered one of the strongest technically and organizationally, placing it at the forefront of annual tournaments.
