The Organising Committee of NAS Sports Tournament has added exciting sports competitions to the 11th edition of the Tournament.
The biggest of its kind event will take place at Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex during the Holy Month of Ramadan under title ‘Unlimited Abilities.’
Participants in the 11th edition of the tournament will compete in nine sports games; these are: volleyball, padel, jiu-jitsu, fencing, wheelchair basketball, running, cycling, tug of war and obstacle challenge.
The committee has intensified preparations for the launch of the nine competitions of the tournament.
One of the new events, added to the current edition of the tournament, is the obstacle challenge competition, which will take place within 400m grass area at Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex.
Contestants in this competition are classified into men category and women category, and they compete to surpass all obstacles as fast as they can. Timing will be counted as of the starting point and up to the finishing line through electronic chips, to be fixed at the contestants’ shoes.
Registration continues for participating in obstacle challenge competition up to the date of the launch of the competition or up to completion of the determined numbers.
The Organising Committee has announced that men and women of all nationalities whose ages are 16 years old and above are eligible to participate in the competition.
Each participant is allowed to attempt only one time in the race, and once he has overstepped any of the obstacles, he will be excluded. Each participant will also be responsible for his timing’s chip, as no result will be counted in case the chip loses.
The competition contains 11 obstacles distributed within an area of 400m. The race comprises two tracks, as each two contestants compete vs. each other up to the finishing line. They need to run, creep, slide, climb and jump over, under or through the surface within a maximum period of 4 minutes.
Athletes who fail at any obstacle may try for the second time, and if he fails again the second time, he will be disqualified from the competition but may continue in the event and receive the final medal.
The NAS Sports Tournament is organised with distinctive participation of thousands of athletes of various ages, multi-nationalities and different physical levels from UAE and overseas who compete in several competitions during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The current edition of the tournament is expected to witness increase in the numbers of participants particularly with the return of the exciting obstacle challenge competition, which is awaited by all participants to test their physical abilities
The 11th version of the tournament will also witness the addition of the tug of war competition.
