Sharjah Women's Sports Club’s A team won the Youth Basketball League title for the 2023/2024 season after defeating their counterparts Al Sharqiyah 39-30 in the final match of the tournament held at the main hall of the Sharjah Women's Sports Club.
Sharjah Women's Sports Club’s Eastern branch team finished in second place. The third place in the competition went to the Sharjah Women's Sports Club’s Al Wusta branch.
The presentation ceremony on the closing day of the competition was attended by Hanan Mahmoud, Vice Chairperson of Sharjah Women's Sports, Abdulaziz Al Noman, advisor to the Sharjah Women’s Sports, and other officials.
Also present during the award ceremony were representatives from the UAE Basketball Federation, including Dawood Al Tamimi, Head of the Referees Committee, Zahra Al Balushi, Deputy Head of the Women's Committee, and Qassim Dadoosh, the Technical Secretary of the federation.
The winning team, Sharjah A, was represented by players: Safiya Adel, Alhanouf Ali, Saleha Yousuf, Arwa Obeid, Nada Al Jalaf, Asil Islam, Alia Al Mahmoud, and Mouza Al Suwaidi, led by coach Iman Ayashi.
The Eastern Branch A team was represented by the following players: Sarah Mohammed, Aisha Omar, Sheikha Hassan, Afra Obaid, Mariam Askar, Metha Hassan, Tayf Hassan, Abeer Abdul Aziz, Yara Marwan, and Munira Faisal. The team was coached by Fatima Zaqrouba.
Fatima Al Alili, Head of the Team Games Department at the Sharjah Women's Sports, expressed her satisfaction with the performance level of the teams at the club, noting that the exceptional support given to all club players has contributed to their excellent performance in all competitions.
She congratulated the winning team, and also praised the efforts of all the technical and administrative staff of participating teams.
