Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, crowned the winners on the opening day of the Binous Classic Championship held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Held in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council and under the supervision of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (EBFF), this second edition of the prestigious event is being organized by Binous Gym
The presentation ceremony was also attended by Dr. Rafael Santonja, president of International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB), Ali Bin Haider, Vice President of Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation,
Mohammed Abdul Rahim Al Marri, Secretary-General of the Federation, Anis Binous, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, and others.
UAE national team player Ali Dawai won the Champion Cup in the physique category and was awarded the gold medal in the 176 cm category.
In the remaining categories, Egypt’s Abdul Rehman Mohammed won silver in the 176 cm category, and UAE resident Sham Shi took bronze.
In the Youth Physique category, Egyptian Ali Mohammed Ahmed claimed gold, while UAE resident Abdullah Faisal won silver. In the 173 cm category, Taqi Rezaei won gold, UAE resident Elijah Tokbah won silver, and Syrian Ahmed Younis won bronze.
In the above 176 cm category, Shahin Molaei won gold, UAE resident Mohammed Ahmed Abdul Jalil took silver, and Omani Fahad Mahmoud Al-Fawri claimed bronze. Emirati players, both nationals and residents, succeeded in winning medals in the Physique category.
Dawai expressed his happiness at winning both the Champion Cup and the gold medal.
Dawai stated that he had won the Champion of Champions Cup eleven times in his career.
“The Binous Classic featured a large number of world-renowned athletes, and I managed to secure first place in my category, which included 22 players, making the competition highly competitive,” he added.
Dawai dedicated his achievement to the UAE sports community, the national team’s technical director, Zwaid Salmeen Al Zaabi, his coach, Almas Mousa Al Balushi, and the Binous Gym.
In arm wrestling, Emirati player Abdullah Al-Sharari won gold in the open weight category for athletes with special needs after defeating Kuwait’s Khaled Al-Otaibi. His coach, Jassem Al-Matrooshi, described the victory as a significant achievement for UAE arm wrestling, expressing gratitude to the Binous Classic family for their exceptional efforts and to the Arm Wrestling Committee of the UAE Federation.
The fitness competitions, which featured 185 male and female participants from the UAE, Britain, Kuwait, Ecuador, Italy, Iraq, and other countries, were also notable.
Tournament organizer Mohammed Al-Akidi stated that fitness competitions have received substantial support in various championships since they were recognized as part of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation’s official sports.
Several championships have been organized in Fujairah and Dubai, with participation in global tournaments. He also thanked the Binous Classic for organizing this event during the festival.
