UAE national powerlifting team’s Mohammed Ali Al Hammadi clinched the bronze medal in the Masters category, 105 kg weight class, at the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) 2024 World Masters Powerlifting Championships in Sun City, South Africa.
Hammadi secured the bronze medal amidst fierce competition from a host of world champions, demonstrating his ability to overcome strong opponents.
This medal marks the second for the UAE team, following Faisal Al Zaabi's silver medal in the 93 kg weight class at the same championship.
Mohammed Abdul Rahim Al Marri, Secretary-General of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, emphasized that these achievements reflect the efforts of the federation's board of directors, chaired by Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi.
He expressed optimism for the future, anticipating even greater accomplishments, particularly with the emergence of young athletes who will be participating in upcoming championships, aligning with the qualitative shift in UAE powerlifting.
Marri congratulated Al Hammadi on his bronze medal, describing it as valuable and well-deserved, a result of his dedicated efforts during the competition and his prior preparations.
Hammadi expressed his gratitude for the medal, considering it a valuable achievement at the world championship level.
He stressed that this success does not limit his aspirations and that he will continue training to achieve even greater heights in the future.
