Mohammed Al Habtoor, President of the UAE Polo Federation and Chairman of the Al Habtoor Polo and Equestrian Club and Resort, has wished the UAE Polo family all the best for the start of the 2024/2025 season.
He expressed his hopes that clubs and players will present strong performances that contribute to the development of the game and meet the aspirations of fans and enthusiasts.
The President of the UAE Polo Federation predicted that the new season would be full of surprises, as most clubs have focused on youth development to create a broad base of players of all ages and both genders.
Al Habtoor concluded his statement by expressing his wish that, through combined efforts, the federation would be able to form a strong national team capable of competing in the 2026 XIII FIP World Championship, which will be held in the UAE.
The Al Habtoor Polo season kicked on Saturday, with an exhibition match at the Al Habtoor Polo and Equestrian Club.
Formally the season will kick off with the prestigious Ladies Charity Cup on Oct.26, an event that not only guarantees fantastic competition but also supports a worthy cause.
The annual Halloween Cup starts the next day and runs until November 2, while the Patrons Cup will take place on Nov.9. From Nov.10-16, the AHPC League begins, followed a week later by the UAE National Day Cup from November 23 to 30.
The Sir Winston Churchill Cup will be held from Dec.10-14, and the APHC Festive League Festival kicks off on Dec.16 for five days.
In 2025, the APHC League resumes from January 4 to 11. Polo fans can look forward to the Dubai Silver Cup starting Jan.6, 2025, and lasting until Feb.1, 2025.
Next event in the line is the most prestigious and powerful tournament, featuring the best amateur and professional polo players, is the Dubai Gold Cup, which has a handicap level of over 20 goals.
It will be held from Feb.5-22. A week later, on March 1, the Dubai Challenge Cup will begin, lasting one week. The APHC League resumes again on Feb.22 for a week, followed by the Polo Masters Cup from April 1 to 5, and the Dubai Cup from April 14 to 19. The season will conclude with the APHC League from April 22 to 26.
