Dubai Land Department (DLD) participated as ‘City Partner’ in the International Real Estate Expo (IREX) 2019 hosted by the Indian capital New Delhi over two days 27 – 28 September 2019. This comes as part of DLD’s keenness to register a distinguished presence in major international events to promote Dubai’s real estate market and highlight the unique opportunities this sector offers investors.

Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director General of DLD, said: “India has long been one of the UAE’s leading partners, where the UAE hosts a large Indian community that contributes to the growth of various sectors, especially the real estate sector. DLD’s participation in IREX with leading developers in the Emirate represents our ongoing efforts to reach out to potential investors around the world, especially as our presence adds transparency to developer activities and supports their offerings. At the same time, our platform at international events and exhibitions helps us answer investor questions about investment mechanisms. We also showcased our latest initiatives and applications that allow investors to remotely Identify opportunities and complete their transactions at any time.”

IREX is one of the leading promotional events for global properties and luxury developers. This year, the fifth edition attracted a large number of visitors wishing to explore destinations that offer the best options for investors seeking premium properties around the world. The expo attracted 80 companies representing more than 20 countries from around the world, and over 1,500 visitors.

Majida Ali Rashid, CEO of the Promotion and Real Estate Investment Management Sector at DLD, commented: “We chose to participate in IREX 2019 India to affirm the growing ties that the UAE has with this country in various key areas. Furthermore, reports and statistics from DLD show that Indian investors are ranked among the highest foreign investors in Dubai’s real estate market. They are investing in Dubai because the city offers them a high-quality lifestyle with modern facilities, and they feel safe and secure in a transparent investment environment with low tax rates. We hope that our efforts will attract more foreign direct investment into the sector.”

The participation of Dubai as City Partner in IREX was organised by the Promotion and Real Estate Investment Management Sector, the promotional arm of DLD, with a selection of developers who made extensive presentations to visitors to introduce them to all that is new and distinctive in the Emirate, many of whom expressed a high degree of interest in real estate investment and to make Dubai their second home.

During his speech at IREX 2019, Majid Al Marri, CEO of the Registration and Real Estate Services Sector at DLD, affirmed that DLD’s participation in this event came following initiatives and directives launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for the sector, its regulation, and the provision of sustainable growth engines, which helps developers align with national directives and strategies to support the Emirate’s high ambitions. He added that DLD always seeks to find communication channels with its customers to update them on all developments related to this sector and support developers to reach the global market.

IREX provides a unique opportunity for international real estate developers, marketing companies, investment promotion agencies, and hotel chains to benefit from international investments offered by leading developers in India and other countries, making it one of the finest specialised real estate platforms.

As part of its efforts to strengthen Dubai’s position, and place it among the leading and most distinguished investment destinations, Dubai Land Department (DLD) was a strategic partnership with the recently concluded Cityscape Global 2019 .

Previous reports reveal that Dubai’s real estate sector progressed in global competitiveness indicators. In the ease of doing business index, the UAE delivered outstanding results by ranking 11th globally, having advanced ten ranks among 190 countries. This result is represented by Dubai as the largest business city and a result of improvements in a number of sectors, most prominently of which the real estate sector, represented by the real estate registration index, which advanced three ranks in 2019 and ranked seventh globally.

Bin Mejren stressed DLD’s keenness and ongoing support of local and global exhibitions that promise an ideal opportunity to promote the benefits and facilities made available to global investors visiting Dubai, and added: “Our participation, which is in line with our vision to position Dubai as the world’s premier real estate destination and a byword for innovation, trust, and happiness , is critical to emphasising our multi-tasking role and responsibilities. We will be supportive of all promotional activities presented in the exhibition and of our developers to reach their customers who are looking for the best investment options. Our stand will be the perfect haven for all segments that are willing to learn about the laws, regulations, and legislation that protect their interests.”
