The Sharjah Directorate of Public Works (SDPW), has completed a project for establishing the Grand Touristic Restaurant in Al Hisn Island, Dibba Al Hisn, worth Dhs10 million.
Ali Saeed Bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Chairman of SDPW, stressed that the cities of the Eastern Region of the Emirate of Sharjah are witnessing a remarkable development in the projects sector, thanks to the direct directives and follow-up by His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
Mohammed Bin Yarouf, Director at SPWD explained that the restaurant is a two-storey building with a total area of 1,200 square metre, where the ground level includes a dining area and an outdoor seating area for 70 people, a kitchen, toilets, and storage, while the upper level includes a preparation area and an outdoor area with a capacity of 115 people, in addition to the outside interlock and shaded areas.
Sharjah Directorate of Public Works has announced recently the completion of construction works for Al Hamriyah Suburb Council building and another in Al Suyoh, at a cost of Dhs12 million.
Ali Bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi said that the two councils were established in a local and modern urban style, and that the distribution of its facilities was in a manner that meets many needs, adding that the project of establishing Al Hamriyah Suburb Council and another in Al Suyoh will contribute greatly to organising many of the Services.
He explained that Al Hamriyah Suburb Council and Al Suyoh Suburb Council will serve the people of the two regions, and each extends over an area of 3,600 square meters.
Al Suwaidi explained these councils aim to enhance social bonds between the people, through forums and events that bring them together in the councils, in addition to monitoring their needs and discussing their ideas and proposals in various fields and raising them to decision-making bodies.
The Sharjah Directorate of Public Works said in April that it has completed 76 projects at a total value of Dhs195 million during the first quarter of 2020 as part of the developmental plans adopted by the Emirate of Sharjah to ensure social welfare and economic wellbeing.
Ali Bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi said the directorate is following up more than 400 projects currently under execution across various fronts, including construction, maintenance, earthen settlements, and supply of IT infrastructure services across all areas and cities of the Emirate.
“Periodic maintenance is going at full tilt in over 360 governmental buildings through national contracting companies and engineering consultancies in sync with the government’s prevention guidelines,” he said, adding that all the projects are being executed in line with the DPW’s sustainability-driven vision and commitment to ensure sustainable provision of smart services.
SEC establishes Committee: Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), on Tuesday, chaired a meeting of the Council at the Sharjah Ruler’s office, in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Salem Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and SEC Deputy Chairman.
The Council issued decision No.30 of 2020 organising and establishing the Organising Committee of the Ports and Border Checkpoints to be affiliated to the Sharjah Seaports, Customs and Free Zones Authority.
The Council reviewed several issues on its agenda concerning the emirate’s various affairs and issued several resolutions that would support the development work of the Sharjah government at all levels and sectors.
The Council discussed the proposals submitted by the Sharjah Education Council regarding the development of the work system in the parents’ councils of male and female students in the emirate, contributing to the integration between schools and families.
SEC reviewed the report submitted by the Department of Town Planning and Survey, DTPS, on the urban observatory project in Sharjah, which was established in March 2019 in cooperation with 18 government agencies, as a specialised centre that collects data on various development areas to improve the standard of living for residents in a specific area, as well as analysing data and transforming them into indicators.
Last month, Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council chaired a meeting of the Council at the Sharjah Ruler’s office, in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of SEC.
During the meeting, the Council approved the 2nd batch of 2020 related to the beneficiaries of the residential, commercial and industrial lands grants in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The Council reviewed a number of issues on its agenda concerning the Emirate’s various affairs. The Council issued a number of resolutions that would support the development work of the Sharjah government at all levels and sectors.
During the meeting, the Council approved the Memorandum of Understanding to be signed between the Department of Civil Aviation, DCA, in Sharjah and the Department of Civil Aviation in Fujairah.
