Abu Dhabi Airports Free Zone (ADAFZ) welcomed a delegation of International investors to its premises to strengthen commercial bonds and explore collaboration opportunities.
Facilitated by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) on the side lines of the Abu Dhabi Finance Week (Nov.14-18), the delegation included representatives from 12 companies based in France, Germany, Israel and South Korea.
Located in close proximity to 2 International airports in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, ADAFZ offers companies the opportunity to do business with full airside and landside accessibility, achieving their objectives whilst supporting growth of both the aviation sector and Abu Dhabi’s economic diversification drive. Abu Dhabi Airports Free Zone (ADAFZ) is a 100 per cent foreign ownership, tax-free business environment with a 0% import/re-export tax duty haven.
The zone was established in 2012 as part of the emirate’s economic diversification strategy and is home to businesses from a wide range of sectors like aviation, logistics, e-commerce and ICT with many new sectors coming online. ADAFZ, unlike any other free zone in the emirate, lists its proximity to international airports as one of the major advantages afforded to its clients, serving as a strategic hub and gateway to the Middle East.
Operating at Abu Dhabi International Airport, Al Ain International Airport and Al Bateen Executive Airport, ADAFZ manages a property portfolio of over 88 km2 and acts as a One-Stop-Shop providing a variety of world-class products and facilities, including fully serviced business centres, plots of land for development, aircraft hangers and more, all of which offer an outstanding return on investment to our tenants.
Meanwhile Abu Dhabi Airports Free Zone (ADAFZ), a subsidiary of AD Airports, revealed earlier that they are approaching successful completion of the Cargo Village and Terminal rehabilitation project. As part of an expansion strategy to increase cargo capacity, enhance operational capabilities and attract new business opportunities, the project has equipped the cargo facilities within ADAFZ with vital upgrades that meet the latest aviation industry standards.
Among the most vital upgrades is the new cool storage facility, developed in collaboration with Etihad Airport Services and Etihad Cargo, which will enable the airport to handle temperature-sensitive air cargo, such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare and life sciences products, in optimal conditions. With a dedicated temperature-controlled area of more than 3,300 square metres, the cool storage facility broadens the AD Airports capabilities to handle all import and transit shipments, and store loose cargo and unit load devices (ULDs).
Eng. Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Airports said: “Today’s announcement represents the latest milestone in our enduring strategy to enhance the regional air cargo and aviation industries. With the conclusion of essential upgrades at Cargo Village and the Cargo Terminal, our abilities to align with Abu Dhabi’s vision, support logistics and drive economic diversification will soon be elevated further.
