Emirati women have distinguished themselves with their exceptional competence and their capacity.

Celebrated each year on August 28, Emirati Women’s Day commemorates women’s power, their achievements in arts, business, science and numerous other fields, and their key role in shaping the future of the UAE.

Younis Haji Al Khoori, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, emphasised that Emirati Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate a national journey marked by significant achievements, where women are key partners in the workforce, innovation, and future planning.

In his statement, Al Khoori said: “Emirati women’s limitless ambition and determination to succeed in all fields are supported by our wise leadership and the impactful initiatives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation. These initiatives have been instrumental in establishing the pivotal role of women in sustainable development, making the UAE’s efforts to empower and support women a model that reflects the nation’s esteemed reputation and leading position on the global stage.”

He added: “At the Ministry of Finance, we are immensely proud of the achievements of Emirati women. They are not merely participants in our development and success; they are driving forces shaping future generations.

“We firmly believe in their ability to lead with creativity and skill across all areas of work. That’s why we are committed to fostering an environment that encourages innovation and collaboration, enabling us to achieve further successes in the financial sector, strengthen its leadership, and channel all our efforts into meaningful contributions to our community. Moreover, Emirati women play a crucial role in instilling strong values, ethical principles, and a spirit of excellence in the hearts of future generations,” Al Khoori concluded.

Mohamed Bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, stressed that Emirati women are indispensable partners in driving the UAE’s journey towards development and prosperity, owing to the boundless support from our wise leadership, which has spared no effort to empower women and boost their roles across various sectors.

In his statement on Emirati Women’s Day, Al Hussaini said: “Emirati women have distinguished themselves with their exceptional competence and their capacity to achieve remarkable accomplishments that have contributed significantly to shaping the future of our nation. This excellence is a testament to the vision of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, whose limitless support has been instrumental in developing the capabilities of Emirati women and highlighting their vital roles in society.”

He added, “We’re truly proud of the outstanding achievements Emirati women have made across all sectors. Their success speaks volumes about our leadership’s faith in their determination, ambition, and ability to excel and make remarkable contributions to our nation. Our wise leaders are committed to boosting their visibility on the global stage, shaping supportive laws and policies, and nurturing an environment that sparks creativity and innovation.”

Al Hussaini went on to commend Emirati women for their vital role in driving the financial sector forward, noting their ability to propel its success and progress. He emphasised that they have set inspiring success stories across various workplaces, overcoming challenges, and creating new growth opportunities, leading to significant achievements and securing the country’s position as a leader in the global financial arena.

Amel Chadli, President of Gulf Countries, Schneider Electric, said: “Emirati women are demonstrating extraordinary leadership in driving the UAE’s energy transition. With nearly half of recent university graduates being Emirati women pursuing engineering, the future of innovation is undeniably female. At Schneider Electric, we are proud to empower these trailblazers to become leaders in the energy transition, through our next-generation Emirati apprenticeship program called Tamayuz. By investing in the potential of young Emirati females, we are not only shaping the future of our industry but also building a more sustainable and prosperous nation. Their innovation, leadership, and resilience are not just transforming industries but also paving the way for a more inclusive and dynamic future.”

Mariam Al Meraikhi from Schneider Electric, said: “My journey as a young Emirati woman in the industrial sector came with its challenges, but with a love for what I do and the support of an amazing team, I found my way. I’m continually inspired by Emirati women breaking new ground in this sector. It’s encouraging to see women bringing new and bold ideas in critical fields such as digital automation, technology, and engineering. Their success shows the strength of diversity and the limitless potential of women. Remember, every challenge is a chance to grow, and with passion, you can achieve anything.”
