The second round of the UAE-Finland Joint Committee was held on 22nd November in Helsinki, as part of a broader UAE trade mission to Finland.
The session was co-chaired by Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Jarno Syrjälä, Deputy Minister for International Trade of Finland.
During the session, the two sides reiterated their commitment to forging bilateral ties and exploring new cooperation opportunities in various fields, including trade and investment, food and water security, education, digitalisation and AI, space, and transportation and logistics.
The two sides concluded the round of the Joint Committee by signing the minutes.
On the sidelines of the Joint Committee, Al Hajeri delivered a speech to mark the inauguration of the first session of the UAE-Finland Business Council, which saw the participation of senior officials from Council members from both sides.
Al Hajeri emphasised the flexibility of the private sector of both countries, which would contribute to the promotion and acceleration of bilateral trade and investment ties.
The visit concluded with a bilateral meeting between Wille Rydman, Finland’s Minister of Economic Affairs, and Al Hajeri which focused primarily on exploring ways to increase trade and investment ties between the two countries.
A day earlier, A UAE delegation headed by Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs, conducted meetings with prominent companies in Finland during an official visit.
The UAE delegation included representatives of the Ministry Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Investment, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Abu Dhabi Investment Office, and Etihad Rail, as well as other UAE companies.
