Dubai Chamber of Commerce (DCC) has collaborated with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism to organise a dedicated roundtable discussion outlining the key objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) for the Business Councils operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chamber of Commerce.
The session featured a detailed presentation by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (Dubai DET) on the goals of the D33 agenda, which aims to double the size of Dubai’s economy by 2033 and position it among the world’s top three economic cities.
The presentation also highlighted how efforts to achieve these objectives strengthen Dubai’s pro-growth business environment and explored ways to expand the private sector’s contribution and increase the associated benefits for businesses.
Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, commented: “The Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) provides a comprehensive roadmap for sustainable growth and enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy, with the private sector playing a key role in achieving its ambitious targets. Business Councils serve as vital bridges to global markets and play an important role in strengthening trade and investment integration between Dubai and countries around the world.”
The Business Councils operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chamber of Commerce represent the interests of companies and investors from specific markets operating in Dubai. In cooperation and coordination with the chamber, they focus on enhancing bilateral trade and investment between Dubai-based companies and businesses in the markets represented, with the aim of developing robust economic partnerships.
Dubai Chambers is a non-profit public entity that supports Dubai’s vision as a global player by empowering businesses, delivering innovative value-added services, and unlocking access to influential networks. In March 2021, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced the restructuring of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and the formation of three chambers for the emirate, namely Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Dubai International Chamber, and Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, which now operate under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers.
Meanwhile Dubai Chamber of Commerce (DCC), one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, is on a trade mission to Angola and Mozambique, which is taking place from April 21st to 25th.
The mission comes as part of the chamber’s “New Horizons” initiative, a strategic programme designed to support the international growth of Dubai-based companies by facilitating access to high-potential global markets.
The chamber held a virtual pre-mission briefing recently attended by members of the trade mission’s delegation, which includes representatives from a diverse range of Dubai-based companies.
The businesses participating in the mission represent sectors including agriculture; construction and building materials; electronics; energy and petrochemicals; engineering; FMCG trading; food and beverages; information technology; manufacturing; maritime and shipping services; metallurgical industries; real estate; retail; and supply chain and logistics.
During the briefing session, participants were provided with an overview of the mission agenda, which includes a series of bilateral business meetings and networking sessions with companies in Angola and Mozambique.
