Sandra Bullock, suspenseful drama and a popular streaming service are the winning formula for success. The Academy Award winning actress’ latest film, “The Unforgettable,” has officially made Netflix’s Top 10 Most Popular films list, joining her 2018 Netflix film “Bird Box.” With the latest distinction, Bullock is the first actress with two entries on the tally, which is based on hours viewed in the first 28 days of release.

“The Unforgivable” landed at No. 9, having been viewed 186,900,000 hours to date, according to Netflix, though it is expected to rise once it hits the 28-day mark. “Bird Box,” which became a social media trending topic, is in the No. 2 spot. Bullock is matched only by Ryan Reynolds, who also has two entries on the list: the recently released action flick “Red Notice” (currently at No. 1) and the Michael Bay-helmed action-thriller “6 Underground” at No. 6. In “The Unforgivable,” Bullock stars as a woman who’s released from prison after serving 20 years for committing a violent crime.

Directed by Nora Fingscheidt, the drama thriller is based on by Sally Wainwright’s 2009 British miniseries “Unforgiven.” Released Dec. 10, “The Unforgivable” also stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Richard Thomas, Linda Emond, Aisling Franciosi, Rob Morgan and Oscar, Emmy and Tony Award winner Viola Davis.

The recipient of various accolades, including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and three Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, she was the world’s highest-paid actress in both 2010 and 2014. After making her acting debut with a minor role in the thriller “Hangmen” (1987), Bullock received early attention for her supporting role in the action film “Demolition Man” (1993).

Her breakthrough came in the action thriller “Speed” (1994). She established herself in the 1990s with leading roles in the romantic comedies “While You Were Sleeping” (1995) and “Hope Floats” (1998), and the thrillers “The Net” (1995) and “A Time to Kill” (1996). Bullock achieved further success in the following decades with the comedies “Miss Congeniality” (2000), “Two Weeks Notice” (2002), “The Proposal” (2009), “The Heat” (2013), and “Ocean’s 8” (2018), the drama “Crash” (2004), and the thrillers “Premonition” (2007) and “Bird Box” (2018).

For her portrayal of Leigh Anne Tuohy in the biographical drama “The Blind Side” (2009), Bullock won the Academy Award for Best Actress. She was nominated for the same award for playing an astronaut stranded in space in the science fiction thriller “Gravity” (2013), which ranks as her highest-grossing live-action film to date.

Outside of the film industry, Bullock is the founder of the production company Fortis Films. She has produced some of the films in which she has starred, including “Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous” (2005) and “All About Steve” (2009).
