Renowned actress and fitness enthusiast Saiyami Kher says the monsoon does not hinder her fitness regime as she continues training for the Ironman race. “I have always been into sports. I have run two full marathons and 20-odd half marathons, so Ironman was my next goal. For me, endurance sports make me mentally fit, so it’s my way to clear my mind,” said Saiyami. Living in Mumbai, where the monsoon season can be unpredictable and intense, Saiyami remains undeterred.

“I live in Mumbai, and it’s monsoon season, but I obviously can’t stop regardless of the weather conditions, because I’m three months from race day. Weather is not a hurdle, I actually love running and swimming in the rain. Empty streets with the rain lashing down!” she stressed.

Saiyami’s training regimen includes a combination of indoor and outdoor exercises. She uses indoor facilities for strength training and cycling while still braving the rain for her running sessions.

Talking about her upcoming projects, Saiyami was last seen in the sports drama “Ghoomer” directed by R. Balki. The film also stars Shabana Azmi, Abhishek Bachchan, and Angad Bedi.

Next, she will appear in Telugu filmmaker Gopichand Malineni’s “biggest action film of the country” alongside Sunny Deol. The film is tentatively titled “SGDM.” The shooting of the film began on June 22. Additionally, Saiyami stars in “Sharmajee Ki Beti” directed by Tahira Kashyap. The film is about a modern, middle-class female experience and the lives of urban women, all with the same surname, Sharma.

“Working with Sunny Deol, an icon of Indian cinema, is an incredible honour and a dream come true. After Ghoomer, this opportunity is a significant milestone in my career. Have waited to be a part of a proper commercial film,” Saiyami said. She added: “And I’m glad I have gotten this opportunity. Gopichand Malineni’s vision for the film is truly very exciting. I can’t wait to start this journey and bring our story to life.”

The actress is grateful to the producers for believing in her and giving her a chance to showcase her abilities on such a “grand platform.” Gopichand Malineni, who primarily works in Telugu cinema, is known for films such as “Don Seenu,” “Bodyguard,” “Balupu,” “Pandaga Chesko,” “Winner,” and “Krack.”

Saiyami will also be soon seen in the upcoming film “Agni” and Neeraj Pandey’s upcoming season of “Special Ops,” has shared that her preparation for action in the Telugu film “Wild Dog” came in handy for her role in “Special Ops.” Talking about her preparations, the actress told IANS: “I read a number of books and journals to understand the nuances of these people who seem like ordinary people but are actually agents. Their stories and lives are fascinating. Action is something I did learn for a film I had done with Nagarjuna sir and learnt MMA then, that too came in handy for this. It’s amazing how as actors we get to play such differently diverse roles and for some, we get to dive deep into things we have no idea how and seeking that knowledge is really thrilling.”
