Acclaimed actor Rajkummar Rao shared that his upcoming film “Stree 2” is “a little bigger, more adventurous, and thrilling.” While promoting the film in Lucknow.  Rajkummar responded to a question by IANS, saying, “You will get to see more comedy than in ‘Stree’. You’ve probably seen it in the trailer... It is very funny. It’s the same world and the same people.” The 39-year-old star said that with “Stree 2,” the audience “will get to see the same honesty and love in the film.” “It features a song by our brother Pawan that has become a bumper hit everywhere. There is a lot of comedy and a bit of horror. ‘Stree’ received so much love from people that we decided to expand the world. So, we made it a little bigger, adventurous, and thrilling.”

Shraddha Kapoor, when asked about her expectations for the film, said: “Main yeh chahati hun ki ‘Stree 2’ film ko bahut zyada pyaar mile kiyunki woh manoranjan mila hai logon ko pahele part se (I want ‘Stree 2’ to receive a lot of love because the first part provided so much entertainment to people. I want families to enjoy the film together).”

“Stree 2’ is a horror comedy directed by Amar Kaushik. The film is a sequel to the 2018 hit “Stree.” Apart from Rajkummar and Shraddha, the film also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. It is slated to release on August 15. When asked about the second instalment of the 2017 romantic comedy film ‘Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana’, Rajkummar responded, “I am also waiting for a good story because we received a lot of love from UP. If we get a good story, then Sattu Bhaiya will definitely come back.” Directed by Ratnaa Sinha, the film also stars Kriti Kharbanda and follows the story of Satyendra and Aarti, who fall in love through a marriage proposal.

“Aaj Ki Raat,” the first song from the upcoming horror-comedy film “Stree 2” starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, was unveiled in Mumbai. Actresses Tamannaah Bhatia and Shraddha Kapoor, who were present at the event, twined in red outfits. While Tamannaah makes a guest appearance in the song, Shraddha is set to reprise her role as a mysterious lady in “Stree 2” which is the sequel to the 2018 hit “Stree.” Throughout the promotional phase, Shraddha has embraced her character’s essence with a consistent braided hairstyle, a subtle yet significant nod to her on-screen persona.  At the “Aaj Ki Raat” song launch, she continued this trend, exuding an aura of mystique and allure that complemented her role perfectly.

Meanwhile, Tamannaah brought her own brand of elegance to the event, donning a red saree paired with a corset top. Tamannaah’s ensemble at the song launch combined traditional grace with contemporary flair, making her a vision of sophistication. Meanwhile, “Stree 2” producer Jyoti Deshpande calls the simultaneous release of “Vedaa,” and “Khel Khel Mein” with her own flick “survival of the fittest.”   “There are only 52 weeks in a year. We don’t release films during Hindu rituals (Shradh), IPL, Ramdan, and if some Khan film is releasing or a big South Indian film is releasing that leaves us with only 20 weeks. The clash is bound to happen. So it’s survival of the fittest, the jungle law,” the producer said during the “Stree 2” trailer launch in Mumbai.

“Stree 2” will clash with Akshay Kumar-starrer “Khel Khel Mein” and John Abraham-starrer “Vedaa.” She said that whenever two or three films are ready to clash on the release date, it means ‘we are coming with the feeling ki Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’. “So, we’re super confident,” she said.

Rajkummar has appeared in more than 30 films since 2010, and is the recipient of several accolades including a National Film Award, four Filmfare Awards and an Asia Pacific Screen Award. In 2017, he appeared on Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list. After studying acting at the Film and Television Institute of India, Rao made his acting debut with the anthology film “Love Sex Aur Dhokha” (2010) and took on supporting roles in the films “Gangs of Wasseypur – Part 2” and “Talaash: The Answer Lies Within” (both 2012).
