The world of the Silent Thinker.

For centuries, the Sublime has captivated the imagination of artists worldwide. What is the sensation we feel when words fail us and the quiet hum of wonder is sparked by nature’s grandeur? How does an artist convey the indescribable and translate the metaphysical into the material? With her unique curatorial vision, artist Ambika Hinduja Macker, founder and creative director of the art and design firm Impeccable Imagination, explored these questions through her 2025 immersive art experience, The Sublime Nature of Being. Now, a slice of the Sublime has come to the Bvlgari Resort Dubai, as she curates a solo show for acclaimed contemporary artist Nadim Karam, from April 8 through May 9.
Nadim Karam’s multidisciplinary work embodies profound, ongoing reflections on humanity, social responsibility, and the power of imagination to give meaning to life, seamlessly juxtaposed with playful, even absurdist touches. His portfolio is as vast as it is varied, full of joyfully provocative sculptures, drawings, and paintings, all guided by Karam’s conviction that cities should dream and people should awaken their sense of awe and craving for connection.

The curation of Karam’s sculptures and woven work within the Bvlgari Resort Dubai transforms the space into a living canvas, inviting a quiet dialogue between art, nature, and the beholder as the island offers a rarefied setting, where art unfolds in harmony with its surroundings. Guests are welcomed to slow down and embrace a moment of stillness as they experience a profound, ephemeral connection with the Sublime.
“Bvlgari Resort Dubai offers an exclusive opportunity for immersive escape: an island paradise that is intimate, welcoming, and rooted into its surrounding nature. The sea, the sand, and the stars form the perfect symphony to experience the Sublime, and Nadim’s sculptures further enhance what is already an exquisite space. I’m thrilled to collaborate with them to create a sanctuary for art, nature, and personal reflection,” says Ambika Hinduja Macker.
Work titled Girl carrying a cloud.
“I feel a sense of affinity with Bvlgari’s innovative design and refined craftsmanship and am privileged to exhibit my works from The Sublime Nature of Being at the Bvlgari Resort Dubai. I appreciate their fidelity to their cultural roots, which gives them a daring edge. Artistic innovation and the use of unexpected materials are important in my work, and, like Bvlgari, the human condition has always been at the centre of my concerns,” says Nadim Karam.

Nadim Karam in a contemplative mood.
Nadim Karam is a contemporary artist who creates narratives engaging with cities and contexts through his works. His site-specific projects re-examine contextual issues, enhancing perceptions of diversity in society, taking a playful and often absurdist approach, even when addressing the most critical issues. During his doctoral studies in concepts of eastern space in Japan, he developed a language of forms relating to spaces, memories and peoples through his performance art projects. Later, his public art projects emerged as a natural synthesis of his architectural affinity for urban contexts and his auto-didactic artistic output of drawings, paintings and sculptures.
Through his multi-disciplinary practice Nadim Karam Studio (NKS), Karam has realised numerous major site-specific public art projects around the world, commissioned by cities and institutions. His paintings and sculptures have been exhibited in galleries, biennales, institutions and museums and four monographs on his work have been published by Booth-Clibborn Editions in London. He lives and works in Beirut and Rotterdam. Bvlgari Resort Dubai draws inspiration from its ocean setting in Jumeirah Bay Island to create a sparkling oasis of nautical-inspired luxury. Conceived of and executed by the Italian architecture firm ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, it captures a particularly Italian sensibility, melding Mediterranean charm and Middle Eastern adornment.
