The plane was flying from New York Airport to Portland International Airport, Oregon, but the pilot turned around and headed to MacArthur Airport on Long Island in New York to land after losing the wheel.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) notified Gorham Country Club Golf Course that the wheel fell on it, and the Gorham Police Department recovered it with the metal arm.
The Golf Course official stated that the moment the tyre fell, no one was inside the course.
The FAA explained that jetports mostly fly over residential areas and that the pilot did not follow the scheduled flight course.
FAA is conducting an investigation into the incident.
