The Egyptian government has appointed the chief radio announcer Reda Abdulsalam the head of the Holy Quran Radio Station, one of the most important and oldest radio stations in the country. Reda is a unique person, as officials in Egypt said.

Chairperson of the Egyptian Radio Corporation, Mohamed Nawar, said that the broadcaster and media person, Reda Abdulsalam, was chosen to head the Holy Quran Radio Station, following the retirement of Hassan Madani, the former head, as the post remained vacant for the past three months.
Reda Abdulsalam, the first head of the Holy Quran Radio from people of determination, said that his long journey in radio work had begun 30 years ago, pointing out the disability in his hands, had caused him many difficulties. He has a great professional history spanning more than 30 years in the radio. He is distinguished by his calm voice that touches the hearts and ears of listeners through his most famous programme “Qutoof Min Al Sira.”
Reda said that joining the Egyptian radio saw several difficulties, describing it as a harsh experience in the beginning, saying, “My experience was harsh because I was rejected by one of the major radio icons Fahmy Omar, the former head of the Egyptian radio, at the beginning of my career.” He pointed out that he became chief broadcaster, and has been appointed then as the head of the Holy Quran Radio due to his professional and career history and morals. It was the first of its kind step in the field of Arab media. Reda is suffering from upper limbs atrophy. However, this did not prevent him from clinging to his ambition and joining the radio. He was not successful in the beginning until he succeeded in 1987 in joining the Holy Quran Radio to make himself a distinguished career and become one of the radio figures with his familiar voice in all homes Egyptian.
He has been also famous for presenting religious evenings and tours of the Holy Quran Radio in the villages and cities of Egypt. He also covered the Hajj rites in 2006 and participated in presenting the International Holy Quran Competition in Dubai.
He published four books, the last of which is “Naqsh Ala Hajar” (engraving on stone). For her part, the Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity, Nevin Al Kabbaj, said, “The appointment of the senior announcer Reda Abdulsalam represents a new shift in the history of the radio, where a person from people of determination has been appointed to head the Holy Quran Radio Station for the first time ever. Reda, the chief broadcaster of the Holy Quran Radio, who has entertained us for years with his sweet gentle voice. He has been working in radio for 33 years, during which he presented many famous radio programmes, such as “Qutoof Min Al Sira,” “Masajed Laha Tarikh” and “Sira wa Masirah.”
