Egypt’s oldest high school student, Qurani Mohammed Sha’ban, 73, has been honoured by Ahmed Al Ansari, Governor of Al Faiyoum, for his success and obtaining the high school certificate with 58%.
Qurani Sha’ban failed more than once in the past years, local Egyptian media reported.
The governor awarded Qurani a certificate of appreciation, for his perseverance in seeking knowledge, along with tirelessly taking care of his family.

Al Ansari praised Sha’ban's insistence on seeking knowledge, stressing that he is a role model, and must be emulated in perseverance and keenness on knowledge.
Quarni Sha’ban expressed his happiness to meet the governor of Fayoum, thanking him for his invitation to honor him for obtaining a high school certificate at his age.
He further stressed his intention to continue to the high education until obtaining the highest academic degrees. He hopes to join the Faculty of Law, Sha’ban said.
