His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, congratulated volunteers of different organisations on the occasion of International Volunteer Day.
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed said, “On International Volunteer Day, we recognize and celebrate the dedication of volunteers and volunteering organisations around the world, and commend them on their admirable spirit of service and giving back to communities.

“The values of solidarity are rooted in our society, reinforced by the efforts of the UAE nationals to effective initiatives, programs and institutions that bring prosperity to the community.”
UN Secretary General António Guterres said, “The diverse and dynamic role of volunteerism in promoting the Sustainable Development Goals merits strong support from Governments and other stakeholders. On this International Day, I thank volunteers for their efforts to leave no one behind.”
The International Volunteer Day mandated by the UN General Assembly, is held each year on Dec.5. It is viewed as a unique chance for volunteers and organizations to celebrate their efforts, to share their values, and to promote their work among their communities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), United Nations agencies, government authorities and the private sector.
