Sheikh Sultan stops auction to sell house of Emirati in Sharjah

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, directed to stop the auction of selling a house owned by an Emirati and to follow-up his problem, which led to putting his house for sale in an auction.
It is said that the man had bought that house through a bank-housing loan of Dhs3.5 million, but he reportedly fell behind payment for two year.
He was unable to pay the remaining instalments to the bank, because of his exposure to emergency circumstances.
This came in a quick response from Sheikh Sultan to one of the callers through the “Direct Line” broadcast by Sharjah Radio and Television.
The caller stated that he has a family consisting of his mother, two wives and four children, and that he owned a factory that was destroyed by a fire.
He affirmed that he was paying the monthly instalments due to the bank regularly, but he could not continue, because of his loss and financial crises.
The bank then sued him with the court, and the house was offered for sale in an auction by a decision from it on November 10, 2021, after the end of the specified period of six months.
He became required to pay the full amount he owed, begging to intervene to stop the auction, reschedule the remaining amount on him from the value of the house, and reduce the monthly installment to Dhs10,000.
He has no other place for him and his family to live in other than this house, which is currently threatened with sale, he added.
