His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said on Friday, in a video with the hashtag on Instagram  #Flashesofleadership: “We seek to compete the excelled who are at the top... The UAE region is in the middle of the eastern and Western world.”

Sheikh Mohammed said, “The Dubai International Aviation Exhibition in the UAE is growing up in size and space. For us, success means that we have a race against time. Because the UAE is at a rapid pace, we have to think about the future.”

Sheikh Mohammed concluded by saying that “I have suggestions which may surprise the organisers, we do not stop at a certain limit. The exhibition is undoubtedly successful."

The aviation industry will flock to a major air show in Dubai on Sunday as it emerges from pandemic travel restrictions and faces pressure to reduce its impact on climate change.

The five-day event in UAE will be the industry's first large gathering since Covid-19 clipped the sector's wings last year.

Air traffic has bounced back since then, though it was still 53 percent lower in September than its pre-pandemic levels.

Air shows usually serve as a platform for companies to announce orders of aircraft.

The Middle East is a key market for Boeing as two-thirds of orders for the 777X have been made by three airlines: Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways.
