His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, met Gotabaya Rajapaksa, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka at its pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, where Sheikh Mohammed expressed the UAE's keenness to expand and diversify the base Its distinguished relations with all friendly countries are based on the principles of trust, mutual respect and joint cooperation that serve peoples and their aspirations.
The Sri Lankan President congratulated Sheikh Mohammed on the fiftieth anniversary of the UAE Federation, stressing the distinguished position of the UAE at the regional and international levels, and its capabilities and opportunities in various sectors, and the keenness of its wise leadership to activate various partnerships between it and various countries of the world based on solid foundations of mutual understanding and cooperation.
Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on the efforts and developments achieved by Sri Lanka in various social, economic and technical sectors, in addition to the cultural fields.

In addition to the research and development efforts in Sri Lanka, and the innovative products and services promoted by the pavilion, all of which are in line with the rich cultural heritage of the Republic of Sri Lanka with its tourism diversity.
Sheikh Mohammed during his visit to the Nigerian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, also met President Muhammadu Buhari, where the meeting discussed all topics that would develop relations with Nigeria and build bridges of effective cooperation with this friendly country.
The Nigerian president expressed his happiness at visiting the UAE, stressing his country's keenness to develop its joint cooperation with the UAE in various fields to support development efforts in the two countries, pointing to the distinguished relations that unite the two countries in light of their possession of many ingredients and promising opportunities at the trade and investment levels. And industrial and other sectors of interest to the two countries and serve their mutual interests.
