The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced an African woman to one year in jail to be followed by deportation and fined her Dhs28,400 on charges of keeping a man and assaulting him with the help of other accomplices as well as stealing the same amount of the fine from his ATM card.
The convict lured the victim through a massage centre ad.
According to the case, which dated back to last October, the Arab victim filed a complaint in which he said he had been assaulted and robbed by coercion by an African gang.
During the investigations, the victim said he called a massage centre after seeing an ad through mass media and a girl agreed with him on the charge and timing and sent him the location of the centre.
When the victim arrived on the agreed time, the convict opened the fake door of the centre and told him that the girl he had spoken with was waiting inside for him.
The victim, however, found three women and a man who assaulted him and forced him to give his ATM card and PIN through which they withdrew Dhs28,400.
After being arrested, the convict confessed to having collaborated with other Africans for luring those interested in massaging services through an ad showing a European girl on social media and then stealing their money.
