The Egyptian media icon Wael El Ibrashi died on Sunday evening due to complications related to COVID-19.
Several Egyptian media houses, including the “Akhbar Al Youm”, “Al Youm Al Sabea,” “Al-Watan” and others confirmed his death.
Wael El Ibrashi was born on October 26, 1963 in Sherbeen, Dakahlia Governorate, Egypt.
He worked as a journalist for “Rose El-Youssef” newspaper.
He presented several television programmes, the most famous of which were “Al Ashera Masa’an” (10:00 pm) and “Al Haqiqah” (the truth) on Dream Channel.
Wael suffered from pulmonary fibrosis after being infected with the coronavirus at the end of December 2020, which led to his hospitalization more than once in a struggle with the disease.
The Egyptian authorities said that it is necessary to be careful while talking about the new mutant of the coronavirus, explaining that precautionary measures were stressed in al ports.
