The Lebanese singer Georges Al Rassi and a woman named Zina Al Mar’abi, as reported by Lebanese local media, were killed on Saturday early morning, after they had a traffic accident on their way back from Syria, according to the National News Agency.
The Agency stated that the late artist's car collided with a median barrier in the Al Masnaa area at the border point between Lebanon and Syria, while he was coming from the Syrian border. The civil defense personnel were able to pull the two bodies from inside the car, and transferred them to Taanayel General Hospital.
The last concert performed by Al Rassi was in Damascus, after a series of concerts he had recently performed between Lebanon and Egypt, concluding a short artistic career, with a tragic demise at the age of 40. The late singer’s last lyrical release was in late June 2022.
